This week's Victor the Viking cartoon highlights both grades in the 2012 Grand Final. The Storm and Doggies face each other in the big one and the Mighty Raiders face the Tigers in the Toyota Cup grand final.
Victor's crowing this week as the Raiders have pulled off a minor miracle by placing themselves well into the finals race after a great win in the cold against the Doggies! If they win the final round then they could be hosting a home semi final..........who would've thought that a few weeks ago!
It's been a very tough season in 2011 for Victor and the Raiders, but the good news is that it's finally over. Poor Victor needs a holiday, but he'll have to wait until his 2011 NRL Finals reporting duties are done!
The Raiders have at last maintained some consistency and had another gutsy win at Canberra Stadium, this time against those Doggies! Victor is getting back to his boisterous self in this week's cartoon. Editors Note: This was the last Victor done in the original style of pencil colouring by Andrew, who moved to a combination of pencil outline and digital colourisation of Victor the Viking comics after this piece.
Another great second half performance saw the Green Machine show their opponents all about the size of the fight in the dog. A huge game beckons next week when they take on the Dragons at home in their quest for a finals berth!
The Raiders were outgunned by a hungry Bulldogs outfit in round 5, going down 30-12 in Canberra. Victor meanwhile, still hasn't totally warmed up to his new gameday doppelganger, and the Dragon is off to the clinic again after running into a rampant Andrew Johns on Saturday night.
