The National Museum of Australia will be holding a NAIDOC event on Sunday 5th July including lots of great live music and exhibitions which Funnyworks Oz will be a part of.
I’ll be quick drawing people’s opinions and interpretations regarding defining moments in Australian history and their own defining moments in life – this will be drawn on a large art board and become a permanent piece in the museum!
Really looking forward to the experience and hope to see you there!
I attended a gathering at Belconnen Arts Centre last week and had the opportunity to do some caricaturing of some bold folk attending as well as some staff. Had a blast meeting everyone and capturing them in a humorous fashion! My regular students had the night off and watched me perform under the pump – lots of fun and thanks for the great feedback 🙂 Funnyworks Oz will be attending a number of other upcoming events and conferences and will keep you posted!
Funnyworks Oz attended the 2015 Control and Choice expo yesterday and had a great day meeting many wonderful services and people. Head down all day caricaturing people, networking and forming contacts – even won the best exhibition award! I think people just liked being drawn, but most happily surprised to receive it 🙂
Thanks to all involved and looking forward to attending the next one!
Funnyworks Oz will be back at MOAD at Old Parliament House for another fun week of cartooning workshops as part of the Behind the Lines exhibition. Kids will learn how to create their own cartoon caricatures of known people with an extra dash of humour! This school holiday program starts Monday 13th April and is very popular, so book now!
Funnyworks Oz participated at the ADFA Family Day Expo on Saturday 14th March and it was a very friendly and interactive event where I had my head down for the whole 3 hours or so caricaturing. Lots of kids were drawn as well as the odd adult or so – lots of fun and I certainly earned my money with a lineup waiting very patiently for me to capture them in an amusing fashion!
Funnyworks Oz is off to Boorowa with Lyn from Southside Community Services to give a talk and demo for the Rotary Club there! Will be a very social occasion catching up with a couple of mates and possibly a beer or two – will be a lot of fun and an opportunity to spread the word 🙂
Funnyworks Oz will be guest speaking for Advocacy For Inclusion on Wednesday 4th February at the Griffin Centre. It’ll be an interactive and fun session with lots of visuals including the theme ‘Assertiveness v Aggression’ and a Quick Draw goal setting session. Come along and enjoy workshop!
Funnyworks Oz wishes everyone a very Happy New Year – ready for another exciting year of workshops and opportunities!
Hope to expand programs into new areas which I’ll let you know about in the next few weeks – lots of new opportunities which I hope to share info about soon.
A heap has happened since my last post – been very busy drawing up medical images and also a map for the Woden Valley Festival on Nov 8th – lots of good stuff happening!
Also just got back from the Arts Connect Accessible Arts conference in Sydney where I captured the 2 day event pictorially – had an absolute blast and will have images from that on my site soon!
‘Funnyworks Oz’ attended the Red Cross’ 100th Birthday Bash for a Quick Draw session and had a great couple of hours capturing life stories, thoughts and of course caricaturing a few willing participants!
Some of the images captured will hopefully be on the Funnyworks Oz site soon, as well as other updated cartoons and pics.
